RELIGIOUS GROUPS

With the advent of Healthcare Reform, the benefits landscape has become even more challenging for our religious employers. The contraceptive mandate in the ACA in particular has caused much confusion and frustration for our religious clients. As we know well, religious groups of all types have very unique needs when it comes to providing health coverage to their employees. The Daniels Group responded to these needs by creating a consortium of religious Dioceses, schools, hospitals and social service organizations, brought together under one “umbrella” for the purpose of securing more flexibility, better pricing and broader plan options from insurance carriers.

A particularly exciting highlight of this program is in the area of prescription drugs. We teamed with ExpressScripts, Inc., one of the nation’s leading Pharmacy Benefits Managers, to design a self-funded prescription program for the clients who currently make up the Consortium. Each entity is able to select their own plan design and coverage options; however, as part of the Consortium they are able to realize savings of up to 35% off their current prescription program. As membership in the Consortium grows, so will the cost savings that can be realized.

Kathy Passantino is the President & CEO and a co-founder of the firm. Prior to forming The Daniels Group, Kathy spent 17 years with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Office of Horizon's HMO. Kathy also held the corporate position of Vice President of Horizon's Managed Healthcare Division.

Micki Proud brings over 25 years of insurance industry experience to her role as Vice President of Account Management. Prior to joining The Daniels Group, Micki was principal of Acadia Benefit Services, an insurance brokerage and consulting firm, and was also principal and co-founder of On Site On Call, LLC, a firm that handles outsourcing of employee/employer communications and worksite marketing.
